Prince Harry has faced criticism after an interview in which he spoke about wanting to repair his relationship with Prince William.
Writing for The Sun, royal commentator Matt Wilkinson accused Harry of causing more problems for the Royal Family with his public comments. He also criticised the timing of the interview, saying it came during an important royal diplomatic visit.
Wilkinson said any attempt by Harry to create tension between King Charles and William was unlikely to succeed.
He claimed Harry had not told Charles he was moving back when they met over the summer. He also said the two were not believed to have met since Harry’s reported return nearly two months earlier.
Wilkinson added that Harry had not publicly apologised for criticism of the family in his Oprah Winfrey interview, Netflix series or memoir, Spare. In his view, Harry’s recent interviews showed no sign that he planned to apologise.
Meanwhile, reports have claimed Harry received $250,000 for a 45-minute MasterClass about grief. The payment has not been confirmed.
An unnamed source told royal commentator Rob Shuter that the deal required Harry to both deliver the class and help promote it. The source claimed his interview with GQ was part of that promotion.
According to the source, the interview brought attention to both Harry and MasterClass.
Other unnamed sources claimed Harry may also receive a share of subscription income. That claim remains unverified.
