Former royal protection officer Dai Davies has accused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of seeking media attention while expressing concerns about their security.
Speaking to TalkTV, Davies said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should focus on their charity work and other projects without seeking so much publicity.
He claimed the couple regularly share information with selected magazines, television companies and royal reporters.
Davies believes these frequent updates keep Harry and Meghan in the news and draw more attention to their private lives.
He also repeated his view that taxpayers should not pay for their security.
“For years now, I have said, no, you and I should not pay for it,” he said.
Davies argued that the couple’s media activity brings them more attention, despite their concerns about safety.
These statements reflect Davies’s opinions and do not establish that Harry and Meghan are deliberately trying to overshadow the royal family.
