Prince Harry hopes to reconcile with Prince William: ‘I want it to work out’

Prince Harry has spoken about his hope of repairing his relationship with his older brother, Prince William.

In an interview with GQ, the Duke of Sussex discussed the family rift and said his wish for reconciliation remains clear.

“I want it to work out,” Harry said.

The brothers’ strained relationship has attracted widespread attention, particularly following the release of Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare, which included several claims about members of the royal family.

Harry said disagreements between siblings and difficult relationships between parents and children are experiences many people share. He added that people regularly speak to him about their own family struggles.

He suggested this may explain some of the interest in his relationship with his family. People watching, he said, might hope that seeing the royals resolve their differences could help them work through their own problems.

During the interview, Harry also remarked that “some people don’t want it to work out.” His spokesperson later clarified that the comment was made generally and was not directed at William or any other family member.

Harry stressed that finding a way forward remains his priority.

“With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile. That’s the key point,” he said.
