Sources say Harry is free to live independently, but cannot expect the benefits of being a working royal
King Charles has reportedly sent Prince Harry a firm message about his relationship with the royal family.
Unnamed sources told OK! that Charles wants a closer relationship with Harry and his children, Archie and Lilibet. However, he also wants to keep the rules agreed when Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
One source said Charles believes Harry needs to decide what kind of relationship he wants with the monarchy. Harry is free to build his own life, but the King believes that this cannot include the benefits and influence of being a working royal.
According to the sources, Charles does not want to keep changing those arrangements, even if Harry returns to the UK.
They said the King believes the Palace cannot adjust to every part of Harry’s new life simply because he has chosen to return. Charles reportedly wants the same rules to apply despite any personal difficulties.
The sources claimed that Harry finds this approach upsetting and too strict. They added that it could lead him to consider moving back to the US with his family.
