William and Kate may feel relieved by Harry and Meghan’s Christmas plans, former aide says

Prince William and Kate Middleton may feel relieved if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spend Christmas in California, according to a former aide to King Charles.

Grant Harrold, who worked as the King’s butler, shared his opinion amid reports about the couple’s holiday plans.

The Independent quoted Harrold as saying he does not expect William and Harry to repair their relationship soon.

Speaking on behalf of OLBG, Harrold suggested that Harry and Meghan spending Christmas with Meghan’s family could also spare King Charles an uncomfortable family gathering.

He explained that keeping a calm face in public is different from dealing with tension around relatives. In his view, a Christmas reunion would be difficult.

People previously reported that Harry and Meghan would likely travel to California, where Meghan’s mother lives. The report described the holiday as their first Christmas since moving back to the UK.

The trip would mean spending Christmas away from the royal family, who usually gather at King Charles and Queen Camilla’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.

The Sunday Times also reported that Harry and Meghan believed joining the family would be too awkward. According to the report, they did not expect an invitation and were not waiting for one.
