King Charles is managing his duties as monarch while dealing with family problems, according to a palace insider.
The report says the King has faced difficulties involving allegations of sexual abuse against his younger brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and Prince Harry’s decision to step back from royal duties in 2020. It also mentions allegations against Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle.
A palace source told Hello! magazine that Charles carefully decides which responsibilities need his attention first. These include his work as Head of State, his duties involving the church, Commonwealth and military, and his role within the family.
The insider said his priorities can change every day, sometimes even every hour. They added that this helps explain the decisions he makes.
According to the report, the King is on a nine-day Caribbean tour. Meanwhile, a recent poll reportedly suggests that his popularity has fallen.
Despite this, a palace aide said Charles remains confident in how he is handling his royal duties and family difficulties.
The report also says Police Scotland is investigating Andrew’s visits to Balmoral with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. It adds that Andrew is facing a separate investigation into suspected misconduct in public office.
