King Charles wanted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to return to Britain, according to royal journalist Tom Sykes.
Sykes claimed the public does not believe suggestions that the King was surprised by the couple’s reported move to the Cotswolds. In his view, people believe Charles knew about the plans and supported Harry’s return.
He also argued that welcoming Harry back could further damage the King’s reputation, which he said had already suffered because of the controversy surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
According to the report, Charles is on a nine-day Caribbean tour. Meanwhile, a recent poll reportedly suggests his popularity has fallen.
However, a palace aide told Hello! magazine that the King remains confident in how he is managing his royal duties and family problems.
The insider said Charles carefully balances his responsibilities to the country, church, Commonwealth, military and family. What needs his attention most can change each day, sometimes even each hour.
The report also says Police Scotland is investigating Andrew’s visits to Balmoral with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
