An insider says the Duchess of Sussex appreciates those who have reconsidered their comments but remains the target of speculation.
Meghan Markle is reportedly facing renewed criticism over her relationship with her father, Thomas Markle, despite an apology from her brother and others who have questioned her decisions.
According to an unnamed source quoted by Heat World, allegations involving her father have prompted further speculation about why she distanced herself from him and remained silent. The source’s account does not establish the truth of those allegations or Meghan’s reasons for ending contact.
“The army of ghouls has found a way to turn this into another twisted attack on Meghan,” the insider claimed. “They're questioning why she stayed silent, coming up with all sorts of conspiracy theories and debating the whole thing.”
The source said Meghan had spent years being “vilified” for cutting ties with her father. In their view, the allegations becoming public have intensified the scrutiny rather than encouraged greater understanding.
The report also named Piers Morgan among prominent figures it claimed had continued criticising her.
“It just proves yet again that no matter what Meghan does these people will find a way to attack her,” the insider said.
However, the source suggested that Meghan values the apologies she has received from people who have reconsidered their earlier remarks.
She “absolutely appreciates that they’ve been willing to swallow their pride and admit their mistakes,” they said.
The insider concluded by emphasising accountability if the allegations are proven.
“More than anything though, they want to see justice served,” the source said. “If the allegations against Meghan’s father are proven, they want him held accountable and to face the full consequences so that no more children can be harmed, that’s the most important thing of all.”
