Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, currently residing in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, may be planning to leave America, according to a new report.
The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly unsettled by the recent election results, which saw Donald Trump emerge as President-elect. Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths shared her perspective on Meghan’s possible reaction, stating, “Meghan will be deeply upset about living in America with Trump as president. She has openly criticized him before, calling him a misogynist on live television.”
Griffiths speculated that Meghan’s strong feelings about Trump could prompt her to consider leaving the U.S. The couple, who moved to California in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties, have reportedly purchased property in Portugal, hinting at a potential relocation.
Notably, Meghan and Harry maintained a low profile during this election cycle, in contrast to their vocal stance in 2020 when they urged voters to “reject hate.” The possibility of moving to Portugal aligns with reports of the couple’s dissatisfaction with the current political climate in the U.S.
Trump has previously made critical remarks about the Sussexes, particularly their treatment of the late Queen. In a conversation with Nigel Farage on GB News, Trump dismissed the idea of offering special privileges to Harry, saying, “No. If there’s something concerning, they’ll need to take appropriate action.”
