Palace doors remain closed to Harry amid Duchess’s planned US gala appearance
Meghan Markle is facing fresh criticism for reportedly seeking to overshadow King Charles’ Trooping the Colour parade by attending a major US event on the same day.
The Duchess of Sussex will be the guest of honour at a museum’s Night of Wonder gala in Los Angeles, coinciding with the King’s birthday celebrations in London. The move is expected to further strain relations between the Sussexes and the royal family.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Fox News the situation may have lasting consequences for Harry and their children. "King Charles has cancer and will likely never get to know Harry’s children," she said.
Schofield added that Meghan is seen as escalating tensions: "Every time there is a royal milestone, like Trooping the Colour, the Sussexes try to do something to outshine them." However, she remarked that Meghan is "certainly not on their radar."
This comes amid reports that King Charles and Prince William have firmly closed Palace doors to Harry following his controversial BBC interview and recent surname change.
