Princess Anne will return to horseback riding this weekend at Trooping the Colour, her first public ride since last year’s accident.
The 74-year-old Princess Royal will take part in Saturday’s King’s Birthday Parade in her role as Gold Stick and Colonel of the Blues and Royals. A seasoned equestrian, Anne regularly joins the annual event.
In June 2024, she sustained a mild concussion and minor head injuries following a horse-related accident at her Gatcombe Park estate. The Princess spent five days in hospital and later admitted she could not recall the incident.
While Anne resumes riding, King Charles will again travel by carriage this year. Although he revived the "monarch on horseback" tradition in 2023, his ongoing cancer treatment prevents him from riding in this year’s military parade.
