Duchess of York urges support for young changemakers amid royal health concerns
As King Charles continues his cancer treatment, Sarah Ferguson has delivered a passionate message encouraging support for the next generation of innovators.
On June 2, the Duchess of York shared details on Instagram about her upcoming engagement at the RELX SDG Inspiration Day 2025, scheduled for June 3. The event, held in collaboration with the Youth Impact Council, aims to spotlight the transformative role of philanthropy.
In her announcement, the mother of their daughters wrote:
"Excited to join Wendy Chen at @relxhq SDG Inspiration Day 2025, in collaboration with @youthimpactcouncil, to explore how philanthropy can empower the next generation of changemakers."
She praised the youth for being "bold, brilliant, and deeply connected to their communities," noting their role in crafting the solutions needed for the future.
"Philanthropy must evolve to back ideas that scale, grow and create lasting impact," she added. "Let's unlock renovation, uplift youth and lead with purpose."
The timing of Sarah Ferguson’s message coincides with the King’s ongoing health battle. Despite planning for a potential visit to Canada, sources confirmed that the monarch’s cancer treatment will remain uninterrupted.
The Royal Family publicly shared King Charles' cancer diagnosis in February 2024. Since then, he has continued to undergo treatment while gradually resuming public duties.
