Waleses prepare for back-to-back solo appearances in early October

The Prince and Princess of Wales are preparing for an important series of solo engagements, set just one day apart.

On 1 October, Prince William will deliver a keynote speech at the launch of the world’s first global memorial for humanitarian aid workers at Gunnersbury Park in London. The event will honour those who risk their lives to support communities in crisis, with the future King expected to pay a powerful tribute.

The following day, 2 October, Princess Kate will travel to Royal Air Force Coningsby for her first visit since being appointed Royal Honorary Air Commodore in 2023.

During her engagement, Catherine will receive a briefing on the base’s recent overseas operations, including deployments to Poland in support of NATO. She will also see why RAF Coningsby was recently awarded the prestigious Stainforth Trophy, tour the Typhoon Future Synthetic Training facility, and view a Quick Reaction Alert Typhoon aircraft.

Her day will conclude with a meeting with RAF families and the station’s Welfare Team, underscoring her new military role and the couple’s shared commitment as they continue to take on greater responsibilities in the royal family.
