TV host says his court case clashes with his long history of media exposure
The Duke of Sussex has been hit with fresh criticism over his ongoing legal fight with the British press, with one commentator calling him the “definition of hypocrisy.”
Speaking on Sky News, host Danica De Giorgio took aim at his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited, questioning his claim that the case is about protecting his privacy.
She said he had returned to London to continue what she described as a long-running feud with the media. According to De Giorgio, his actions do not match his message.
“He’s suing the papers because he says he wants privacy, but what does privacy even mean to him?” she asked. “He’s made a career out of talking about his private life. That’s why this looks like hypocrisy.”
The Duke of Sussex recently appeared at the Royal Courts of Justice in support of Elizabeth Hurley, who is also giving evidence against the publisher. The pair are among seven high-profile figures accusing the company of unlawful information gathering.
After the court appearance, Harry flew back to the US to rejoin Meghan Markle and their children. The couple were later seen making a high-profile appearance at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
They attended a special screening of their new documentary, Cookie Queens, where they serve as executive producers. The pair posed for photographs with Amy Redford ahead of the film’s premiere, marking their first official appearance at the festival.
