Sources say the idea could wipe out any remaining hope of reconciliation between the brothers
The long-running rift between Prince William and Prince Harry is said to have taken a sharper turn, with fresh claims of anger and distrust behind palace walls.
According to sources cited by Radar Online, Harry is exploring a Hollywood project focused on their late mother, Princess Diana. The idea reportedly centres on a biopic that would highlight Diana’s life, struggles, and legacy for a new generation. William, however, is said to be firmly against it.
One insider claims Harry feels strongly that he has the right to tell his mother’s story and does not believe he needs his brother’s approval. William, on the other hand, allegedly sees the plan as exploiting personal tragedy and crossing a boundary that cannot be undone.
Tensions are said to rise even further over where the project could land. Sources suggest Harry would likely take the idea straight to Netflix, where he and Meghan Markle already have a deal. That possibility is reportedly a major trigger for William, particularly after how the royal family was portrayed in The Crown.
Insiders also claim Meghan would be closely involved if the project moves ahead. William is said to strongly oppose that, but sources insist Harry is unmoved and continues to make decisions with Meghan as his closest adviser.
Both brothers are described as deeply emotional when it comes to their mother, with her death remaining a lifelong wound. Still, Harry reportedly believes Diana’s story has been mishandled for decades and feels a responsibility, as her son, to present it on his own terms. In his view, the monarchy failed her and should not control how she is remembered.
William, meanwhile, is described as determined to block what he allegedly sees as a shameless money-driven project, even if it means pushing the brothers further apart.
