Princess Beatrice and Eugenie Face Pressure to Make Sacrifices for the Royal Family

Royal commentators suggest the sisters should give up palace homes to ease growing scrutiny.

Princess Beatrice and Eugenie are reportedly facing pressure to make difficult decisions following renewed attention surrounding the Epstein files.

The York sisters, whose names were mentioned in documents connected to the scandal involving their parents, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, are now being urged by some royal commentators to take steps that could help protect the reputation of the wider royal family.

At present, Beatrice lives in an apartment at St James’s Palace, while Eugenie resides at Ivy Cottage within Kensington Palace.

Royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror that giving up these residences could help quiet public debate. She suggested that if the sisters truly want to support the monarchy, voluntarily leaving their royal homes might be the right move.

Bond noted that both women are financially independent, married, and raising children while also building their own careers. Because of this, she argued they would have little difficulty renting a private residence in London if needed.

The suggestion comes amid reports that the sisters were previously asked not to attend Royal Ascot during a period of heightened tension around the family.

Royal author Andrew Lownie said the situation surrounding their absence from the event raised questions. He claimed the public nature of the distancing appeared unusual and suggested it may indicate the royal household wanted to create clear separation from the controversy.

According to Lownie, the family could have handled the situation quietly, but the visible distancing may signal deeper concerns about protecting the monarchy’s public image.
