Monarch said to be searching for a way to heal deepening royal family divide
King Charles III is reportedly still determined to repair the fractured relationship between his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, despite years of ongoing tension.
According to a source cited by Heat World, the King has not abandoned hope that the brothers could eventually reconcile, even as their rift appears to deepen with time.
The insider claimed Charles has become increasingly focused on finding a path toward peace within the royal family, describing the issue as “something of an obsession” for the monarch.
The source alleged that some within royal circles now believe any future reconciliation may depend on repairing the relationship between Catherine and Meghan Markle first.
According to the report, both women are viewed as emotionally central figures in the dispute, with Catherine said to strongly influence William while Meghan remains Harry’s closest confidante.
The tensions between the two couples reportedly date back to disagreements before Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding, including a widely discussed dispute involving Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.
The source claimed Catherine has no interest in “forced interactions” or staged reconciliation efforts, adding that she is focused on protecting her own peace.
William is also reportedly against public peace talks or carefully managed photo opportunities, believing such efforts could make the situation worse rather than improve family relations.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives for the Sussexes have commented on the latest claims.
