Prince Harry’s ‘Prince in Exile’ Hopes Dismissed by Royal Expert

Prince Harry has come under fresh criticism over what some royal commentators describe as his attempts to maintain a royal-style image despite stepping away from royal duties.

Harry, who now lives in the United States with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, is reportedly struggling to find the same sense of purpose he once had within the monarchy.

Speaking to GB News, royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo claimed the Duke of Sussex likely carries “many regrets” about the choices that led to his separation from both Britain and the royal family.

According to the expert, Harry appears eager to continue presenting himself as a royal figure through appearances and international visits, including trips to Australia and Ukraine, which he described as “pseudo-royal tours.”

Heydel-Mankoo suggested that the fulfilment Harry once experienced as a working royal has not been replaced by his current life in America. He also argued that both Harry and Meghan Markle continue to rely heavily on their royal ties to maintain public attention and influence.

“The further removed they become from royal duties, the less interest people have in them,” the commentator claimed, adding that the couple seem determined to continue activities that mirror the work of senior royals.

Despite that, the royal expert insisted there is little chance of Harry ever returning to an official royal role. He stated that any hopes of reconciliation with the monarchy remain unrealistic, saying it is “inconceivable” that either King Charles or Prince William would welcome Harry back into the royal fold.
