Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is reportedly facing a serious wildfire warning near his Marsh Farm home, shortly after Prince William addressed the devastating fires affecting France, Spain and the United Kingdom.
According to GB News, the Wild Ken Hill nature reserve, located less than five miles from Andrew’s residence, has placed the local wildfire danger level at “extremely high.”
The warning follows a prolonged period of dry weather and rising temperatures after Britain experienced what was reported to be its hottest June on record.
In a Facebook post shared on July 17, the reserve urged people living nearby to remain vigilant.
“With the ground tinder-dry and temperatures climbing again, the risk of wildfire at Wild Ken Hill and across the country is EXTREMELY HIGH right now,” the post stated.
The reserve also recalled the major fire that broke out at the Coastal Park near Snettisham Beach on July 19, 2022. The blaze began at around 11:30 a.m. on what became Britain’s hottest day on record.
Andrew’s five-bedroom property is situated within King Charles’s 20,000-acre Sandringham estate. He reportedly moved there in April after leaving Royal Lodge.
Although the surrounding countryside and parkland may have initially added to the appeal of the property, the dry landscape could pose a greater risk during increasingly hot summer conditions.
The warning came shortly after Prince William released a statement expressing support for those affected by wildfires across Europe and the UK.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the devastating wildfires across France, Spain and the UK,” William said.
He also thanked firefighters, emergency workers and volunteers for working tirelessly in extremely difficult conditions.
“These events are a stark reminder of the challenges posed by an increasingly extreme climate and the importance of protecting both people and nature,” he added.
