Queen Camilla joined King Charles for his meeting with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie and Lilibet
A royal expert has shared details of an alleged private conversation between King Charles and Queen Camilla shortly before their meeting with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Speaking on Piers Morgan's YouTube show, royal commentator Katie Nicholl suggested that the King may have pulled off a “masterclass” by arranging the meeting discreetly and at the last minute.
“What I found so interesting was that it was ultimately the King who managed to pull off this eleventh-hour meeting, cloak and dagger,” Nicholl said.
She claimed that only Charles, Harry and Meghan initially knew about the plans.
According to Nicholl, the King called Camilla from Highgrove to let her know the Sussexes were on their way. She explained that Charles and Camilla often spend parts of their weekends separately, adding that the arrangement is “not as strange as it sounds.”
“The King called the Queen and said, ‘This meeting is going to happen, they’re on their way,’” Nicholl claimed. "She jumped in a car, didn't tell anyone. Her children didn't know. No one knew at all."
The expert said the secrecy surrounding the meeting was intended to show that such a meeting could take place privately and without taxpayer-funded security.
“This can be done without anybody needing to find out about it,” she added.
The reported reunion marked Charles' first meeting with Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet since 2022.
