Prince William and his estranged brother, Prince Harry, have separately shared emotional reactions to England's World Cup semi-final defeat.
Kensington Palace posted William's personal message after Argentina came from behind to secure a place in the FIFA World Cup final.
Following the match, England’s official account announced on X: “Our FIFA World Cup semi-final ends in defeat.”

Reacting to the result, William said: "Gutted. England, you gave it everything and we are all so proud of you."
"Thank you to everyone on and off the pitch for an incredible tournament. The fight and belief you have shown has inspired us all," he continued.
The Prince of Wales described the squad as “the most complete England team in a tournament” before urging the players to “hold your heads high.”
The message was signed with the letter “W,” indicating that it had been written personally by William.
Harry also expressed his disappointment over England's 2-1 loss during a solo appearance in New York City.
The Duke of Sussex attended the TIME100 Sports Gala on Thursday evening without his wife, Meghan Markle, following the couple's reported visit to the UK.
When asked whether he was saddened by England's defeat, Harry offered a brief but heartfelt response: “Of course.”
