Prince Harry has come under criticism after reportedly changing his plans for an upcoming return to the UK.
The Duke of Sussex had earlier been expected to bring Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to England this month. However, reports now suggest Meghan and the children will remain in California, following a last-minute change in plans.
The decision has drawn sharp reaction from royal commentators, particularly after claims that King Charles had extended an official invitation and offered the Sussexes a royal residence to help make the visit possible.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Mirror that Harry appears overwhelmed by concerns about his family and security arrangements.
“Harry is lost in his own anxiety about his family and behaving like an entitled prince who either gets his way, or it’s no way,” she said. “He is behaving more like a spoilt celebrity than the second son of the King.”
Meanwhile, royal correspondent Russell Myers claimed that King Charles had tried to support the visit by offering royal accommodation, but was allegedly kept “in the dark” over Harry’s late decision.
According to Myers, hopes of the King finally reuniting with his grandchildren now appear uncertain, with Harry reportedly left emotional over the situation.
Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020 alongside Meghan and their son, Archie. The couple later moved to California, where they welcomed their daughter, Lilibet.
Since leaving the royal fold, Harry and Meghan have publicly spoken about their struggles with royal life, including allegations of racism and tension within the family. Their relationship with senior royals has remained strained, and Harry’s latest UK visit is once again expected to attract intense public attention.
