The Duke of Sussex is said to be aware of speculation that he and Meghan Markle could lose their royal titles once Prince William becomes King.
Prince Harry reportedly wants to repair his strained relationship with Prince William, with royal insiders claiming that concerns over his title and Meghan Markle’s business interests may be influencing the timing.
According to Closer, the Duke of Sussex is aware of speculation that William could take action against the Sussexes’ titles after becoming King. Sources claimed this has encouraged Harry to seek reconciliation sooner rather than later.
“As much as this is about him wanting to mend things from an emotional standpoint, there’s no way to ignore the fact that getting back into William’s good graces is important from a business perspective too,” an insider told the publication.
The source claimed that an unresolved feud could have financial consequences for Harry and Meghan.
“If this feud is still raging when William takes the throne, it will have very real consequences for his title, which will inevitably affect his and Meghan’s bottom line,” the insider said.
They added that Harry may have a better chance of repairing the relationship while King Charles is still able to help bring the brothers together.
“So the time to make this happen is now, before William is totally in charge, and while Charles is still around to help broker some sort of peace deal,” the source said.
However, the insider claimed that Harry continues to insist his motivations are personal rather than financial.
“Harry swears he just wants his brother back and that this has nothing to do with protecting his title, but people are suspicious of his motives, especially William,” the source added.
The claims emerged days after Harry, Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, reportedly reunited with King Charles in Britain as part of efforts to ease tensions within the Royal Family.
Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, did not reportedly meet the Sussexes during the visit.
