Andrew ‘confined to a lonely existence’ amid royal family distance, expert claims

Prince Andrew is said to be living a largely isolated life as his relationship with the wider royal family remains strained.

Royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital that the former Duke of York may be feeling increasingly cut off from senior royals.

“Andrew obviously is feeling the contempt and distancing,” Turner said, claiming that he is now “confined to a lonely existence.”

Turner also alleged that Andrew has taken up an unusual pastime to pass the time, reportedly watching a television channel dedicated to planes landing.

The royal expert suggested that restrictions on Andrew’s usual interests, including riding and shooting, may also be taking a toll. He added that the ongoing police investigation and his reported distance from former wife Sarah Ferguson could be contributing to the pressure.

“Some of his favorite activities, like riding and shooting, may have been curtailed,” Turner said. “The ongoing police investigation is a continuous worry for him. And still, his soulmate and former wife is being distant.”

Another commentator, Hilary Fordwich, said Andrew no longer holds a meaningful role within the monarchy.

“Andrew isn’t important anymore,” she said. “No one is very concerned about how he’s feeling. However, it’s important to ensure he doesn’t cause any more damage to the monarchy.”

The remarks come as the royal family prepares to gather at Balmoral. Reports have suggested that Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet, could also be invited to join the family.

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have continued to keep a relatively low profile in connection with the controversy surrounding their father.
