New claims have emerged about how Meghan Markle reportedly felt during a private family meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove.
According to reports, the gathering included the King and Queen as well as Prince Harry, Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Weeks after the reported meeting, a source speaking to RadarOnline has claimed that Meghan did not view the occasion as the relaxed family reunion it may have appeared to be.
From her perspective, the insider alleged, the visit felt “more like a managed operation than a warm family get together.”
The source claimed Palace officials were determined to keep the meeting tightly controlled, with an emphasis on privacy, avoiding cameras and ensuring the gathering remained completely off the record.
While those precautions may have seemed reasonable on the surface, the insider alleged that Meghan felt the arrangements went much further than expected.
According to the source, Harry and Meghan were reportedly given specific instructions about when they could arrive, which entrance they should use, how long they could remain at Highgrove and which parts of the property they could access.
Even more informal activities were allegedly restricted.
The insider claimed that something as simple as taking the children for a walk through the gardens or visiting another area of the house required prior approval.
For Meghan, the source alleged, the carefully planned nature of the visit created the impression that nearly every movement and conversation had been arranged in advance.
Rather than feeling welcomed back into the family, Meghan reportedly came away feeling that the Sussexes had been closely managed throughout the gathering.
The insider added that the lack of spontaneity only reinforced Meghan’s reported belief that they were not being treated like relatives returning home, but as visitors whose every interaction needed to be controlled.
