Prince Harry is reportedly hoping to rebuild his ties with the royal family, but his plans could create a difficult situation for Meghan Markle and their children.
Following meetings with King Charles at Clarence House and Highgrove, Harry is said to be considering whether a more regular role in Britain could be possible. According to a source who spoke to Heat, the Duke of Sussex would like to find a compromise that allows him to spend more time in the UK.
“Harry’s dream is to work out some sort of compromise where he can go back more often and potentially even become a part-time working royal again,” the insider claimed, adding that he would love Meghan to join him.
However, the source suggested that Meghan has no interest in returning to England, even on a part-time basis.
“There’s no way Meghan wants to move back to England, even part time,” they said. “LA is her home.”
The insider also claimed that Meghan feels uncomfortable about visiting Britain because of the hostility she believes she has faced there. As a result, the idea of moving back with Harry appears unlikely.
The couple are also said to be focusing on different priorities. While Harry reportedly remains committed to repairing his relationship with the royal family, Meghan is concentrating on building stability around her brand and professional projects in the US.
Despite their busy schedules, the source insisted that they continue to make time for one another and their children.
“Of course, they come together for meals and family time,” the insider said, while acknowledging that their days pass quickly because they are often pulled in different directions.
The source also dismissed suggestions that Harry making more frequent trips to Britain would necessarily point to trouble in the marriage.
“On one level, Harry and Meghan spending more time apart while he jets back and forth to the UK is less dramatic than people might assume,” they explained. “They already have very full, independent lives.”
For Meghan, Los Angeles remains the centre of her personal and professional world. Her friends and work are based there, while the couple’s children have also established roots in California.
That leaves Harry facing a complicated choice. He may want a stronger connection to Britain and the royal family, but his wife and children have built their lives in the US. Finding a balance between those two worlds could now become one of his greatest challenges.
