Tensions between the brothers deepened after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
Prince William is reportedly not ready to repair his strained relationship with his younger brother, Prince Harry.
According to a source who spoke to RadarOnline.com, the Prince of Wales remains deeply upset over what he believes Harry and Meghan put Princess Kate and the wider Royal Family through.
“There is still considerable anger surrounding what William believes Harry and Meghan put Catherine and the wider family through,” the insider claimed.
The source said William’s main priority is protecting his wife and their three children. He also reportedly does not believe that being in the same country means he must spend time with Harry, either privately or at public events.
King Charles may continue trying to rebuild his relationship with his younger son, but William is said to be in a very different place emotionally.
The possibility of Harry returning to the UK more frequently could increase the chances of the brothers crossing paths. However, William reportedly has no plans to arrange joint appearances or present a public image of reconciliation.
“Any meaningful change has to happen behind closed doors first,” the insider said. “Living in the same country is one thing. Behaving publicly as reunited brothers is quite another.”
William and Harry’s relationship has been under growing strain since the Sussexes stepped away from frontline royal duties in 2020. Their public interviews, Harry’s memoir Spare and several accusations against the Royal Family have since widened the divide.
For now, a reunion between the brothers appears unlikely, with any possible reconciliation expected to begin privately and on William’s terms.
