Donald Trump has made it clear that he is not a fan of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump commented on the couple’s decision to step away from royal duties and move to California.
“I’m happy about it,” he said before adding, “I wasn’t a fan.”
Trump accused Harry and Meghan of treating the royal family badly.
“I thought they treated the royal family with great disrespect. I didn’t like it. I didn’t like the way she acted,” he said.
He also criticized Meghan’s behavior toward Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles.
“I thought she was terribly disrespectful to the Queen, to King Charles,” Trump added.
The US president said that if the decision had been his, he would not have welcomed the couple back into the royal family.
“I wouldn’t have taken them back. If I were the royal family… I wouldn’t have taken them back,” he said.
Harry and Meghan reportedly returned to England last week with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Reports claim the family arrived on a private jet and that the children may begin attending school in their father’s home country.
Details about the children’s possible school and the family’s living arrangements have not been made public because of security concerns.
