King Charles has not yet spoken publicly about the death of Norway’s Princess Astrid, who died on Friday at the age of 94.
Princess Astrid was the older sister of the late King Harald V. She died just two days after her brother was laid to rest.
King Harald died on August 28. Following his death, King Charles described the Norwegian monarch as his “dear cousin.”
“It is with the most profound sadness that my wife and I have learned of the death of my dear cousin, King Harald V of Norway,” Charles said in a statement.
After Princess Astrid’s death, King Haakon VIII praised her service to the Norwegian royal family.
“Throughout her long life, Princess Astrid represented the Royal House in a warm and dutiful manner,” he said.
King Charles has not yet released a statement about Princess Astrid.
His sister, Princess Anne, and his son, Prince William, attended King Harald’s funeral on September 9.
It is not known whether a member of the British royal family will travel to Norway for Princess Astrid’s funeral.
