King Charles’s charity, The King’s Trust, has shared photos and details of Andy Burnham’s visit to its Manchester centre.
During the visit on Thursday, young people supported by the charity spoke about their experiences, the challenges they have faced and the opportunities they need to succeed.
In a social media post on Saturday, the charity said young people’s voices matter today, as well as in the future.
One highlight was when Charlie, a Young Ambassador for the charity, presented Burnham with a special 50th anniversary yearbook. Charlie also joined discussions about issues affecting young people.
Charlie said he enjoyed meeting Burnham, introducing him and having a conversation with him. He described the experience as “quite surreal.”
The charity said real change happens when young people are included in discussions.
The King’s Trust was previously known as The Prince’s Trust. King Charles founded it in 1976, when he was Prince of Wales, using £7,400 from his Navy leaving payment.
