According to a source speaking to Closer Online, the Duchess of Sussex feels unhappy and embarrassed by how events have unfolded. She believes her efforts have brought further criticism and humiliation from the royal family and the British media.
The source said Meghan would prefer to return to America and pursue her Hollywood ambitions if the royals are unwilling to welcome the couple back. She wants to build a life that does not depend on their approval.
While Meghan understands Harry’s wish to keep the door open to his family, the insider claimed she does not want their future to depend on whether the royals eventually accept them.
The source added that Meghan is determined to pursue the career she believes she can achieve and sees no reason to give up those opportunities. She has reportedly asked Harry to find a compromise instead of expecting her to keep making concessions.
If Harry chooses to stay in Britain, Meghan has suggested spending extended periods in separate countries. According to the insider, she does not believe that arrangement would necessarily harm their marriage.
Meanwhile, Meghan took to Instagram to tease a new product from her As ever brand.

The announcement also follows a reported development in the case involving her father, Thomas Markle Sr. The 82-year-old has reportedly entered a dementia care centre, raising concerns about the ongoing investigation.
According to legal experts cited in the report, Thomas Sr could not be questioned or tried over the claims if he were medically unable to recall relevant events. They said his testimony would be considered invalid in those circumstances.
